We were ultimately disappointed in choosing to work with AveTex. We needed to have our back door replaced. We signed an estimate agreement with AveTex so that they could go ahead and request the city permit and we ordered the specific door and dog door that they recommended. AveTex messaged us about a week later canceling our project because of something related to changes in their liability policy. They said that they are no longer able to do doors and windows. Not sure whether to believe them or not, but it seems unlikely that in such a short period of time a large change in their liability coverage would take place without any advanced warning.
The frustration on our end, besides the time and energy lost in the planning and signing with them, is that the other contractor alternatives that we have now sought out all suggest buying a door with the dog door already built-in. They said it will be cheaper and more professional/intentional looking. Well … we already have the door ordered and on its way and will have to figure out how to return a whole pre-hung door if we follow the other contractor’s recommendations. The one contractor we found that would install the dog door on the door we already purchased, charges more than what the total would be buying a different door with a pre-installed dog door.
Overall, we’ve ended up losing a lot more time, energy and money than was necessary for replacing a door.

I used Pedroza to hang a new front door. The door and the door frame are different woods and they helped me pick the right stains for each to get them as close as possible in color. They noticed a bulge in the door I’d purchased, called the place I got it from and got them to exchange it. I would never have noticed the flaw so I really appreciated their attention to detail. I would highly recommend them.

Had a new door with locks put in. Fit and finish were incomplete. I had to finish a lot of the work myself. He said double barrel locks were no longer available at Home Depot but I found them there after. Also the moulding around the door were not the same size so it did not have a good fit. The calking around the door was poorly done and I ended going over his work and doing it myself.The landing needed to be reinforced and only was reinforced when I complained about it. The door lock dust bin was not installed. I'll probably have someone finish the work.
Over 400 dollars over the estimate also.
He said he specialized in doors but it didn't appear that way by his work.

Lawerence showed up on time and got to the job immediately. He looked at the problems, took inputs from me and discussed solutions and pros and cons, before implementing them. Problem statement : Pocket door and the swing doors were sagging, fixed them both with innovative ideas. While he was there he also fixed drawers in the bed and a cabinet door. I would highly recommend Lawrence for his skills.

Sam is absolutely amazing; if you need someone with his skills, don’t hesitate - hire him right away. His work is extremely high quality and he moves fast and diligently. We had him swap the swing of a bathroom door from inward to outward and expected the wood frame to need a lot of repair from the swap. Not at all; just a bit of paint and it looks as though it always swung that way.
Next we hired him to replace three very old doors that didn’t match the five panel style of other doors. But we also asked him to preserve and use the existing antique door mortises and door knobs. I expected it to be way too complicated and maybe even impossible. Sam makes the hard and complex look easy; and faster than we imagined.
We had been calling numerous door companies for help for almost two years. Sam did all the work so quickly we still can’t believe it. Seriously, he’s a great guy and hire.
