FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely. I'm always reading up on industry and instrument specific publications, I practice every day, I'm always learning and growing as a player, and I recently took a trip to Puerto Rico to study with an amazing percussionist about different rhythmic aspects of Afro-Puerto Rican and salsa music.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Soon after I was recommended to play bass at 8 years old, I joined he school orchestra, started original bands in 6th grade, and by the time I was 12 I knew what I wanted to do with my life.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A couple of months ago I had a student who was preparing for an audition at a local university. He had failed a previous audition and was really nervous. Over the course of a month and a half we worked on various aspects of his playing, specific to the audition preparation. He re took the audition, and is currently enrolled as a music student at Cal State.
