Introduction: If you want the best music instruction of your life and wish to actually learn music that YOU enjoy, from pop to classical and everything in between, gain from all the benefits of music and learn piano from a professional, full-time musician/instructor. Mitch Clement, private guitar instructor, will travel to your home or office. No contracts and no charges for even late cancellations. I am great with kids and adults alike, from beginners through advanced. I also teach piano lessons. Go to thumbtack.com/pianowithmitch for more info. Current or former clientele include TV personality Howie Mandel, MMA legend Chuck Liddell, NBA star Michael Carter-Williams and the late Tony Scott, film producer. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in music and have worked almost exclusively in the extended Calabasas area for the past 10 years. Read the reviews and Q and A below for more info! The most current available times are listed above or just CALL, TEXT, or EMAIL me for specific availability and any other questions. Experience: After starting piano at age 4, I had begun figuring out how to play songs by ear, by age 12. I went on to play both upright and electric bass in the jazz band, wind ensemble and orchestra at Agoura high school while studying privately with David Young (Los Angeles Philharmonic). Thereafter, I went on to study music at Eastman School of Music in New York, Cal State Northridge and University of Northern Colorado where I received my bachelor's degree in music. As early as my late teens, I turned professional through teaching as well as performing with various bands and artists including Willie Waldman (Sublime, Snoop Dogg) and opening for bands such as Hoobastank and Phunk Junkeez. I have performed at venues such as Civic Arts Plaza, Canyon Club, Whiskey a Go-Go, The Mint, The Roxy, Sherwood Country Club, Reseda Country Club, Bovard Auditorium (USC), Key Club, Dakota Lounge, Cobalt Cafe, Beverly Hills Hilton and Disneyland. It is no surprise that there is a direct correlation between taking music lessons and having academic success. I love playing a role in establishing that focus and determination in people and knowing they will carry that with them the rest of their lives.

Mitch is a fabulous guitar teacher. He has helped my son understand different concepts from cord shapes to advanced music theory. Mitch is easygoing, fun to work with and most importantly can accommodate any style of music. We have referred him to several people.

My son had been taking piano for over 2 years and guitar for the past 6 months. Mitch allows both of my kids to play what they love, which makes them want to keep playing!

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I help people learn how to play their favorite songs on guitar. I teach ear training (even for my younger students) which improves listening skills. I can transform your favorite pop songs into easy guitar versions and I can help you learn to read music. You tell me what your goals are for guitar and I promise to satisfy all your musical curiosities!

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I have three current students Jake, Brandon and Jacob who will be attending John Hopkins University, University of Virginia and Seattle University respectively this fall. I have taught these students for a combined 14 years of music training.... None of which plan on having careers in music but the point is playing music helps balance your life. It can open a young persons mind all while reducing stress. It's no surprise that there is a direct correlation between taking music lessons and having academic success.
