Radio Sofia

Introduction: We are an eclectic trio, consisting of a guitarist, saxophonist and a percussionist with distinct spontaneity, creativity and passion that fuel our commitment to producing organic music in the moment. Radio Sofia plays jazz, blues, tangos, son cubanos, sambas, RnB/soul ballads, experimental audio horizons and pop songs with a conception that is firmly rooted in the past but exists in the now looking forward to the future. Michael Cavaseno (Bang Data, ORIXA) plays his guitar as if it were an orchestra, utilizing his effects to create a dense, looped tapestry of funky beats, dub wise bass lines, flamenco melodies and modern harmonies. David Boyce (Broun Fellinis, The Afrofunk Experience) flows rich, melodic lines over these psychedelic, grooving trance inducing meditations, evoking a myriad of emotions and feelings from his horns, their soulful tonal mysticism enhanced by his innovative use of effects. Zori Marinova (Audiobraille, Gringa) infuses the sound with the afro-cuban and brazillian grooves on congas, cajon, bongos, pandeiro. Together, we offer a new way of hearing songs you might know and songs you've never heard before.
