Although I will not be continuing lessons due to personal reasons, I enjoyed the lesson that I did have with Abe. He was knowledgeable and professional. I could tell he is a proficient player and he addressed many of the goals I had specified in my request.

I love music, but I've always had difficulty playing an instrument. My past teachers haven't been able to help me improve. Abe's constructive criticism is very helpful and encouraging. Sometimes there's too much information so some of it goes over my head. But he tells me it's something I'll learn in the future, or it's how professional musicians would approach the music we're working on. He can play classical, jazz, and pop. He can improvise really well! He's a composer too and really knows music theory. He's the only teacher that actually understood theory and could apply it in his playing unlike some teachers who just know about music theory. I'm learning to write my own songs, so we work on my projects, and also some easy classical pieces so I can improve my technique. He's the perfect teacher for students who want to learn how to play and also compose. We had to transition to online lessons due to Covid-19 in March. I was skeptical of online lessons, but they're working really well for me now!
