Each hour-long lesson with her was the happiest hour of my week. She always dealt with my struggles with kindness and patience. She never made me feel like I was incapable or talentless, like some other insensitive teachers had done. It was more than just a singing lesson - it was therapy, because I would leave feeling happy and refreshed. I learned with her to make sure my own students left their lessons feeling the same way. She came to our home weekly and instructed my daughter for 6 years. When my daughter expressed her interest in learning piano at the age of 8, I helped with some basics but beyond that looked for someone willing to come to our home and further her ability. She now plays at our church service once a month as part of the worship team! Catherine does a wonderful job of keeping students on task, challenging their expertise on the piano and teaching with a positive attitude. She will be as committed to her student's development and skill growth as they are willing to be.
