Judith T. says, "Recently I booked myself a trip to France and I thought I should brush up on my French so I started looking for courses to enroll in. I've taken French 1 & French 2 in school, so I have super beginner knowledge of the French language.
I tried Duolingo and looking into enrolling in courses at my local community college, but it was frustrating to go over super basic material. I am not quite intermediate, but not exactly a beginner either so it was tough to find a learning platform to meet me where I'm at and when I decided to take French lessons it was tough to decide on where and with who
So, I finally found Marlene and before committing to any lessons we had a 15 minute meetup to make sure we were the right fit for each other. We went over my goals, my background with French, and my expectations in taking French lessons.
I've been taking lessons for a month and a half now and have noticed a significant improvement in my comprehension and my ability to form and speak basic sentences in French. It's intimidating to speak a new language, but Marlene makes me feel comfortable to try and make mistakes. She regularly points out areas where I have improved and in areas I need correcting, Marlene will incorporate it into the lesson so that I can improve. I never feel judged or looked down on for being wrong and that has made a huge difference in my progress.
I highly recommend Marlene for anyone who wants to learn or improve their French. She isn't just a French speaker, but someone who has actual experience in teaching French."See more
