Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I perform at a lot of music events, festivals, Holiday parties, and VIP events.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, but moved to Salt Lake City in my early twenties with my husband and trained in aerial arts, Like many young Iowa professionals I found my way back home, to Des Moines, and while the art scene in Des Moines was flourishing, there still wasn’t anything quite as thrilling as aerial being offered in the state. So I developed my program, began teaching classes, and became Iowa’s first and only aerial instructor.

The response was unlike anything I could have imagined and within a year hundreds of women, men, and children had been introduced to the wonderful work of aerial through my classes. It didn’t take long for students to progress and I began training novice students into professional performing aerialist.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Safety is #1! I am CPR, AED, and First Aid certified. I continue to travel all over the country training with industry leaders to ensure that I am qualified in the latest techniques and safety standards.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Come take classes from me! :)
