We are looking for excellent engineers of all types. In particular, we are looking for a

Backend Software Engineer

We are searching for a talented engineer who is comfortable designing and building large, complex features to help bring Thumbtack to the next level. You will need strong design and algorithm skills to take our innovative ideas and bring them to life in an efficient and scalable way. You must be self-motivated and able to work in the constantly changing atmosphere of a small startup.

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
• Knowledge of PHP, Perl or Python
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL, preferably PostgreSQL
• Strong command of algorithms, data structures and software design
• At least 2 years of related job experience

Pluses:

• Javascript knowledge
• Experience with Subversion
• Experience with Linux
