“Delivering a menu of money-savings services to consumers since 1995”

Bio

Consumer advocate / real estate pioneer passionate about using new technology to deliver savings to DIY homebuyers. A graduate of Harvard & MIT city planning program, Bill is the only member of his family who is NOT a college professor.

About Real Estate Cafe

When we opened in 1995, The Real Estate Cafe was the 1st real estate cybercafe in the world (see link for 80 second video intro).

As consumer advocates, we have been pioneers of the fee-for-service movement (think "fee-only" financial planners for real estate). We are committed to delivering consumer savings through our money-saving menu of fees and rebates, including our 100% rebate option featured in the Wall Street Journal. Our record rebate is over $100,000.

We're eager to work with tech-savvy DIY home buyers and sellers (FSBOs only) on an as needed, fee-for-service basis. Use this innovative bidding platform to let us know how we can help you save money, and rest assured: we provide a zero tolerance conflict of interest policy.

We invite to read our questions and answers below, and ask "your" real estate agent if they can match our trade record and value proposition. If not, let's correspond online or talk in person offline.

Question and answer

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Rather than simply choosing a fee-for-service real estate professional on their hourly rate, one should ask for a ratio of fees to savings. For more info, see our blog post: Will real estate consumers begin comparing hourly fees to savings?

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. A shockingly high percent of real estate agents do not see a problem with this cartoon: Conflict of interest, what conflict of interest?
