FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Mindfulness, for continuing to build self-awareness - which is so important for good singing. Yoga and pilates, which are great for building core strength. Core strength is vital for optimal vocal production!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Other than performing, teaching has always been fascinating and fulfilling for me. Early on in my own training I began noticing that I seemed to have a knack for diagnosing people's vocal issues based on observing their bodies while they sang and observing the way they projected their voices. After finishing a very broad education in vocal performance, I learned over time that my "knack" as a vocal coach had very logical reasons for working. My intuition about breath, body and space in the throat was in line with how the vocal apparatus produces sound naturally. I decided to use my natural knack to pursue teaching, but I also spent years finishing my education and doing plenty of personal research about how the voice works in order to get where I am today!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
