I'm a professional composer, teacher, musician, as well as author of two critically acclaimed drum set method books. I've been teaching percussion and drum set lessons for over twenty years. My students usually turn into section leaders within their school band program, get excellent ratings at ensemble and solo contests, earn positions in all-state jazz ensemble and all-state concert band, and go on to get bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees in music.
I educate students at every stage of their musical progress. I collaborate with every student to custom design a curriculum which facilitates their learning form, while addressing their musical aspirations and needs. My students gain good practice habits, how to approach formidable material, how to get ready for concerts, recitals, and auditions, and how to develop their own creative voice. My overarching objective is for students to find the joy of playing music while fostering a high degree of musicianship.
