Thanks for your interest in studying music with me! I want you to know that I love teaching and giving expert and individualized instruction to my students is paramount. You should know that teaching is my career and that I have three degrees in music, including a music education degree, jazz studies, and an MFA in composition. I have been teaching successfully for over 20 years. My experience includes classroom instruction and private lessons— from kindergarden through college level and beyond. I am a well-known author and editor of instructional music books and my titles are published worldwide in many languages. I've worked on books on everything from basic chords to artist-based books on everyone from Aerosmith to ZZ Top. I've worked with top publishers including Cherry Lane Music, Hal Leonard, Alfred Music, and publications including Guitar One and Premier Guitar. My approach is based on modern pedagogy and knowing how to best adapt to your specific music needs and learning style. Whether you are a brand new beginner, a pro looking to hone his or her skills, or anywhere in between, I can help you on your musical journey.
