FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I like to speak on the phone, to get a general idea of the types of music the client is seeking, and to explain a bit about what services we provide. In many cases we will then set up a live showcase, and/or an in-person consultation. A lot of information can be exchanged via email, but I like to meet each client in person at least once before we perform at your event. This helps put everyone at ease, and makes for a much more relaxed time over all. In some cases I end up speaking to or exchanging emails with the client over a dozen times in the months leading up to the event. In other cases, I just receive a deposit check, and then show up at the event without any further consultations. These are the extremes, and most events lie somewhere in between. Everybody, and every event, is different. It's all fine with me.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional musician and DJ for over 25 years. I have performed at hundreds of private and corporate events all over the US, from coast to coast. There is no formal education that could have prepared me for this career, that I know of. Let's call it on-the-job training.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started playing with my band around NYC in 1990, and right away people started asking if we played at weddings and special events. It just took off from there. 400 weddings, thousands of night club performances, and millions of miles later, I am still loving my job.
