Survey findings and summary
After a two-month survey of over 6,000 small business owners nationwide, Thumbtack.com has released new data showing that Columbus recieved a 'D' from local small businesses for the friendliness of its tax code. The city's hiring and employment regulations drew praise, however, earning the city an 'A-' in the category.
Some of the key findings for Columbus include:
- Small businesses give the city an 'A+' for its training programs, but only a 'C' for its ease of starting a business. And Columbus small business owners ranked in the bottom quarter nationally in terms of optimism for their prospects in 2012.
- Central Ohio ranks as the state's best region to start a business.
