FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In Nashville, the going rate is $60 for an hour lesson, $30 for a half hour. I set my pricing a little lower than that because I know what it's like to be trying to make it as a musician in this town. I'll work with very young children, with short attention spans, for as little as 15 minutes (at $12.50) in the beginning.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually suggest a give-it-a-try half hour first lesson during which we start to get to know each other, discover the student's true needs, and lay out a plan. There is, of course homework. Learning an instrument doesn't really take place during the lesson, so much as during the private - all alone in your room - practice sessions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BA in Music Production
