FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depending on what the client is asking for, I either bid the entire job, by the hour, or charge by the day....it really just depends. Most of my customers keep adding more and more as I'm painting, so the quote can change as well. If I do just bid out the job, it’s because I’ve done something similar and I know how long it will take, along with supplies needed. I can try to estimate how many days I think the job will take by hearing the customers vision, and depending on the content. I’m pretty efficient with my painting as well, so my process seems quick to many.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I get their vision for the project first and see if they want my input as well. I'm willing to do simple sample drawings for free, but detailed drawings I do charge for. I always like to see the space first, verify placement/measurements, and I think it's nice for the client to meet me. Once the mural is designed, I get the room ready then get started. When the mural is complete, I clean up and enjoy my customers happy faces.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to an art school in California for 2 years then landed my first job as an art director. I'm an illustration artist by trade and a muralist as well. I've trained artists and have worked in high production of art as well. I've also created art for Disney, so I'm pretty detailed and a quick artist.
