I am a custom portrait photographer. I am self-taught but professionally-polished, and I specialize in babies, children, teens, couples, families, and bridal portraiture. A part of custom photography entails that I will personalize sessions and create a vision for your portraits.
I am generally an on-location/outdoor photographer, but I also photograph newborn babies indoors. My clients appreciate that I pay close attention to the details, whether that be adding extra touches to create unique looks during an engagement session, or the creative ways I have to interact with their young children.
My style can be considered classic, beautiful, and modern.
A. I create portraits that exude natural beauty and that look almost effortless, although that may not always be the case. I am willing to go the extra mile to search for a unique location and utilize the right lighting to execute my vision for the final product. This is mostly true or specialized sessions for teens and brides.
I am also able to work with families with young children to put them at ease. This helps me to bring out natural interactions and allows for such things as their clothing to become less of the focus. The subjects should always be the center of attention.
A. I enjoy the variety of work I do. I enjoy the peaceful, gentle energy I feel during newborn sessions. I love the laughter and quiet moments filled with genuine love during engagement sessions. I also love the challenge and high-energy of family sessions.
I also enjoy creating art out of the portraits. I have invested a lot of my time and resources to learning from the best in the field of artistic digital imaging. I use image enhancing programs to produce works of art that still remain true to the subject being photographed. Less is always more.
A. I frequently have clients ask about clothing. The best advise I can give is to think about the look you are going for and choose clothing that you will feel comfortable wearing, clothing that reflects you. Basic colors and bold textures do wonders for portraits. And always keep white to a minimum.
I also get asked if I can provide a CD of all of the pictures taken. I have decided since the beginning of my business that I would not be willing to provide clients with unlimited "digital negatives" of my work. As a custom photographer, I create the best possible finished products for my clients and hold high standards toward what I will give them. With this being said, I fully stand behind my policies that reflect the fact that I value all of my work enough to know not to give it away without an additional investment.
