FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tuition is based on the length of the lesson. I offer 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute lessons. The first lesson is at a discounted rate. I offer two payment plans: the Pay Per Lesson Plan and the Flat Rate Monthly Tuition Plan. Under the Pay Per Lesson Plan, students must schedule lessons on a week-to-week basis. Under the Flat Rate Monthly Tuition Plan students will receive a regular lesson block each week and are guaranteed four (4) lessons per month. If there are five (5) lessons in the month, the 5th lesson is treated as either a bonus lesson or a make-up lesson. More details can be found on my website under the Studio Policy.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin with a basic vocal warm-up assessing the student's range and ability. I use a series of vocal exercises to gauge what to focus on in the lesson. I speak with the student about some basic vocal technique, such as breathing and take it from there. Each student is different and learns in their own unique way. As the student is going through the warm-ups and we are having some open dialogue on the voice I am better able to discover how the student learns and adjust my teaching style to the student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have BA in music and a MM in Vocal Performance. I have been teaching for over 15 years. I also hold a Level III Certification in Somatic Voicework, The LoVetri Method, which focuses on functional singing for all styles of music.
