Professional writer offers tutoring in northern Virginia.

Writing: Students plan and write short stories, essays and reports. Liz guides students through each stage of writing.

English Skills: As students build their writing skills, Liz covers grammar, spelling, punctuation, word usage and vocabulary-building.

Essay Tests: Liz shows students how to plan, organize, write and edit a test exam essay under time pressure. She prepares students for the SAT Writing Section, TJ High School Entrance Exam and PRAXIS I Skills Test (Writing).

College Application Essays: Students learn how to write a personal essay that stands out from the pile.

  • Coming up in September: Liz's test prep sessions for the SAT Writing Section. The SAT Writing Section counts for 1/3 of the total SAT score. Yet, most tutoring services focus on the verbal and math sections. Liz prepares students for the writing section, alone. Students learn how to plan, write and proofread a timed essay and recognize and correct sentence and paragraph errors. (Next test dates: October 9, November 6 & December 4)
