1. Get custom notifications.
When you use the Thumbtack app, you can get push notifications not offered with text messaging or email, letting you know the moment your quote is viewed or refunded. Staying on top of alerts helps you respond faster to requests and messages, making it more likely you’ll get hired.
Here’s how: To select the types of notifications that work best for you, log into the app, tap the You tab, and select Settings. Then tap Notifications and choose your notification preferences for email, text messages, and push notifications.
2. Save money on credit packs with auto-reload.
Get our best deal on credit packs with auto-reload. When you turn on auto-reload, you’ll save 25 percent off the price of credit packs (versus buying credit packs through the iTunes Store or Google Play). Plus, you’ll always have enough credits to send a quote.
Here’s how: To turn on auto-reload, log in to the desktop or mobile site. (It’s not yet possible to turn on this feature using the app.) Then go to your Settings and select Account. Learn more about auto-reload.
3. Add photos to your profile.
The media section of your profile showcases your skills and helps customers visualize what their project could become with your help. The Android app makes it easier to add photos to your profile, right from the photo gallery on your phone.
Here’s how: To add media to your profile, go to the You tab and tap Profile. Then edit or upload photos right from your phone by tapping the pencil icon (for Android) or the + icon (for iPhone) near the media section. Learn more about editing media and other great features you’ll find in the Thumbtack for Professionals app for Android.
4. Sort and filter your customer requests.
Did you know you can sort and filter your inbox to prioritize the requests you care about most? This is especially helpful if you receive a large number of requests every day. To narrow down the requests in your inbox, filter by request type, number of credits required to quote, job location, and/or job start date. (Available on Android now and coming to the iPhone app soon.)
Here’s how: To view your filter and sort options, tap the filter icon in your inbox. On the Filter Requests screen, select filters and sort your requests to prioritize the requests you value most. Keep in mind that your filters will only apply to the requests that appear in your inbox. You’ll still receive notifications (by email, text message, or push) for all your active request types.
5. Pass on requests and archive quotes, with a quick swipe.
We know how important it is for you to move quickly when using the Thumbtack app. To help you organize your inbox in a flash, you can now pass on a request or archive a quote by swiping left.
Here’s how: To pass on a request in your inbox, simply touch the request and swipe left. Then tap the Pass button that appears. You can also swipe left on a quote. To move it to your archive, tap the Archive button that appears. Learn more about swiping on requests and quotes in the iPhone and Android apps.
