Introduction: I'm a focused artist and commercial photographer. The work I produce is precise and well considered. I love to shoot food, products, art installations, and clothing because of the level of difficulty in the work.
I am happy to shoot events and parties. I blend in, dress professionally, and make people feel comfortable because I'm a friendly guy with a funny Midwestern accent.
I have studio equipment for complex lighting situations or product photography, and I have a lot of battery-powered equipment for faster shoots on location or at a party.
My entry point into photography came through my artwork which was the reason for investing so heavily in 51 megapixel cameras, lenses, huge studio soft boxes, and all the nerdy extras that come with the craft. My work has been shown in the Photographer's Gallery in London, Xpo Gallery in Paris, Transfer, Bitforms, Postmasters in New York and some of my pictures in museums. My commercial photography experience is not as far along because I have lived in the middle of nowhere Maine for the last 10 years but I've helped on shoots for a big clothing and outdoor brand.
My philosophy with the pictures I take for clients is not to impose my vision but to help articulate the client's vision. If I'm to capture an event as true to life, that's exactly what I'll do. If you want a picture of your phone on fire in a black void, I can do that too.
I deliver extremely high-resolution TIF images and whatever web or print-sized versions you need as well. This is included in whatever fee we negotiate.
What I love about photography is getting it so right that it looks hyper real. The job is satisfying when I generate images like that.
