Ceyann Boone and I became classmates at West Texas A&M University our sophomore year of college. We were assigned to work in a group together to plan and organize an event for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF. Ceyann, in charge of logistics for the event, was the leader of our group and planned out the event perfectly. Every step and detail was planned, captured, and documented, by Ceyann and the entire crew, including myself, looked to her for guidance and advice. She assigned each member of the group with a role and helped lead the entire team to success. Ceyann is an extraordinary leader. She has held numerous leadership roles on the collegiate level. She was elected the role as the chapter President of the Communication Honor Society, Lambda Pi Eta. Ceyann being the exceptional leader she is- lead our chapter through philanthropic events and important chapter meetings. During college, Ceyann and I had similar class schedules. Every morning in class Ceyann had her organization planner out documenting important deadlines and events. She never missed a beat recording all upcoming assignments that she would simultaneously handle as efficiently as possible. To this day I admire Ceyann’s organizational skills. I’ve not yet met another individual as organized, professional, and intelligent as Ceyann. I admire her on so many levels and feel extremely blessed to be a part of her life. If you are ever in a situation where you need to depend on Ceyann I can guarantee you will not be let down. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depending on the specific services that are requested, I charge about $25 an hour and I typically use this to create a one time "project fee" that includes all of the services I will provide through the course of planning an event. If there is travel or additional services involved then that would also be factored into the project fee.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually the process starts with the customer telling me what they need, and after I have gotten all of the information and details about the event they are wanting to plan then I can come up with a quote that will reflect the entire cost of the event and my services for coordinating as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors degree from West Texas A&M University, where I studied communication skills, public relations, and event management.
