Kristi's Flute Lessons

Introduction: I have played flute for over 10 years. I hold a BM Performance in flute from the University of Redlands (2011), where I studied with artist-teacher Sara Andon. After completing my bachelor's degree I studied at the University of Texas at Austin and completed all coursework toward a Master's in Music Theory. While there I taught aural skills and intro to film sound as a TA for three semesters. As a flute instructor I try to incorporate knowledge of music theory into my lessons to broaden students' general knowledge and understanding of the music they play. I enjoy teaching students who are serious about learning to play flute, becoming better musicians, and who are willing to practice. Teaching is about more than the money for me; I would like to help students grow and give them an opportunity to enrich their lives through art (which I know can be difficult in the High Desert).
