Marilynn is a lifetime master of her art. She know more about music, music theory and the transmission & cultivation of the many styles of music than most any other professional I know. She is also a master teacher. These two masteries rarely occur in the same person. You are fortunate to have found her. Take this opportunity seriously! I have seen young & older pupils who have never touched a piano, sung or tapped a rhythm, blossom and thrive with her. I have seen students, jaded, hating practice, & wanting to quit, go to her and find delight in their own abilities as they begin, for the first time, to understand what they are doing and then chose to join with her to play or write their own music! I have seen professionals reinvent & heal themselves through her tuteledge in practice & theory. Marilynn is a working professional in the field of jazz, & new age music. She has designed music for skaters and horseback professionals and has written and produced many popular CDs & has assisted her students in producing their own CDs & in writing their own music. She has taught in schools and privately for decades. She has performed professionally since she was 18 years old. Still her style, attitudes, & teaching skills are current & her versatility and flexibility make this an awesome combo. If you live in her area, go!!! You are fortunate to have found her. Marilynn is an outstanding teacher. She taught all four of my children piano during the past six years. She also taught my oldest daughter voice lessons and my youngest son how to play the recorder. She always did an amazing job of working with their interests and different ability levels, encouraging them in a very professional way while also being like a member of our family. We are so sorry that she has moved. She is irreplaceable.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Phone conversation followed by first lesson with first 30 minutes free. If you're not happy within 30 minutes there is no charge. Bring any music books you're working in with you or I will recommend one or we'll use my music...
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BS Music Education, piano major University of Illinois; experience in audio recording, analog and digital; many years of solo and band performance on piano and keyboard; experience working with vocalists for auditions or learning how to sing jazz;
