FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depending on the schedule and weekends, I start at $65. That includes my time getting to your location. I usually charge a 3-hour minimum. I work fast, use modern tools, techniques, and long screws for most of my carpentry fixes. I work twice as fast as most handymen.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to show up, get a run-down, get to work, and get it done. I'm also willing, schedule permitting, to stop by for a free estimate. Sometimes the only way to get a grasp of the work is for me to see it. This enhances our communication - so we're on the same page. This is especially important if the job is tricky. It is often difficult in the home construction field to pinpoint exact cost because of variables that frequently come into play. This is especially challenging with remodels or handyman type work, also called "retro-fitting." That is why sometimes an estimate makes sense. BEST WAY TO CONTACT ME: TEXT OR CALL MY CELL. Thank you. Peter
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelor of Science in 1982 from the University of Maryland and have been working in the trades most of my life; started remodels in Colorado in 2001 and became a licensed Colorado Contractor in Basalt (2007); ran a real estate investment company 1986-2005 that purchased, fixed, and flipped a dozen homes on the East Coast including extensive remodels, commercial work, and ground-up construction. Also, I've worked with high-end Aspen, CO interior designers and bring a design-eye and background to my work.
