- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For students that can travel to my studio, or those that take online lessons, the current rate is $50 per hour or $30 per half-hour lesson. Some students prefer that I travel to their residence, in which case a $10 upcharge is added to that rate for most students in the Austin area.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first meeting is actually a free-of-charge "consultation lesson". We'll discuss your goals for music, and get a little background on your learning style. This will help us get right into the swing of things for your first paid lesson!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Jazz Studies degree from Texas State University, where I also served as a teacher's assistant. I've also had the opportunity to perform with bands throughout Texas in genres from country to tejano, blues to bossa nova, Top-40 to big band. In 2014, I was chosen to play bass with a jazz quartet as part of an cultural outreach trip to one of our Sister Cities, Xishuangbanna, China.
