FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tuition is charged by the month and includes both the private lesson as well as group class. Both classes are required to meet the musical goals. 30 minute lessons are $130/month. If a child is 3 and sometimes even with 4 yr olds, his/her attention span is so short that we do two 15 minute lessons a week until they are able to sit for a 30 minute lesson.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an initial chat on the phone, it is best if the parent(s) come without their child and observe at least one student's lesson. There will be time ask questions of the other student's parent. Suzuki lessons are generally different from traditional lessons so there is a chance to see the differences and determine if this is a right fit for your family. After that, students come and observe another child's lesson for several weeks. It gives the child an opportunity to see the lesson process, what the expectations are, and some idea of my personality, all while nothing is required of the observing child. Much learning takes place without any effort and students can begin lessons with less anxiety and more excitement.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in music from La Sierra University and have trained as a Suzuki Piano teacher for all the Suzuki Piano books. Because helping students learn involves understanding how the brain works, I have studied and taken classes on helping brain integration. Fun games are used to facilitate brain growth and development.
