FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
New York State A.T.A.P. / T.I.P.S. certified.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After a couple of unhappy years as a Penny Stock broker in the early 90's, I decided a career change was in order... a hands-on career which would put me in direct contact with the public. If I was going to be spending 40+ hours a week earning, above all, I wanted it to be fun! A fellow broker was studying cocktail flash cards. I was intrigued and asked him about it. Shortly thereafter, I quit the brokerage and obtained my first bartending gig uptown. The rest is history!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Although I've always been involved in private events, recently, I've stepped up my game. After 23 years of working primarily retail bars in Manhattan, I've quit working retail. I've worked all kinds of bars and parties from Meatpacking to Union Square and The West Village to Midtown. I've at ease with casual events to black-tie, VIP-studded galas and anything in between. I've realized that I prefer the personal involvement and freedom of consulting private events much more than day-to-day employment in the same setting.
