Starting with high-quality mic pres and microphones from names like Neumann, Telefunken, AKG, Neve, etc., ensures that whatever is recorded sounds the best it possibly can. ZeroVU can record anything from ADR and voice-over, podcasts to full bands. Owner Jamie Cerniglia has over 20 years experience recording and producing numerous artists and has received several industry accolades including 3 Grammy nominations. I had a really great experience with ZeroVU Recording Studio, located in Bel Air, MD. The owner Jamie welcomed me immediately and was very accommodating, and hospitable right from the start. The studio itself is beautiful, and offers top of the line equipment. Jamie made the experience very easy for me as the artist, meaning all technical aspects of the recording process were done for me, all I had to do was focus on playing the music to the best of my ability. Jamie is one of the head audio recording instructors at The Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts, so it's very reassuring to know that your working with such a high caliber engineer! His expertise is more than evident. Once again, I feel like that alone takes a huge weight off of you as an artist. I couldn't be happier with my first experience at ZeroVU Recording Studio. For any artists/bands that are looking for a professional studio that is run by a professional audio engineer, I absolutely encourage you to check out ZeroVU. I'm very excited for all future recording sessions with Jamie as we continue to work on the completion of my first demo!

Recording at ZeroVU is always a great experience. The atmosphere and design of the studio provides a comfortable and an easy transition into a creative state of mind. The high quality equipment, along with the knowledge that Jamie has to offer makes ZeroVU an amazing place to record.

My GF missed going to the studio and couldn't go back to the previous studio she recorded at. So for her birthday I decided to surprise my girlfriend with a recording session with Jamie and it went smoothly. She was really surprised and now probably has found a place to record again! She recorded 2 songs and Jamie made a CD of the songs and sent us the MP3s of the 2 songs. Amazing all around and very knowledgeable of what he does.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Have been engineering for 20+ years. I started recording in Los Angeles and was mentored by Al Schmitt (23 Grammy Awards) Since 2012, I have been an instructor at Maryland's premier audio recording school, The Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts and Sciences.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Go around to different studios and speak to the engineers. The most important part of the recording process is to feel comfortable with who is recording you. Recording a vocal is a very intimate process. You want to feel 100% at ease with the person on the other side of the glass.
