Introduction: I have a fast 2 week turn around for high quality photography. I am a trained professional photographer having graduated with BA degree in Photography from Columbia College Chicago. I am fun and creative and know how to make my clients feel more comfortable in front of the camera. It is something special to capture a moment or a pivotal time in someones life that will be cherished forever. I love "wowing" my clients with the end results. There is never a dull moment during the different sessions that I do. Whether it is a kid who just wants to make goofy faces, an adventurous 2 year old, 30 mph winds, wardrobe malfunctions, you name it, it happens. But what I am good at, is not letting these things ruin a session. We always have fun and amazing photos can come from the unexpected. I love what I do. I love the people I get to meet. I love the places we get to explore!

Melena delivered a great photography experience for our wedding! She did it all: Solo pictures, couple pictures, awesome pictures with groomsmen and bridesmaids, family portraits, event photography, beautiful close-ups, etc... She was very professional through the whole process, we had a chance to discuss of everything ahead of time, it definitely gave us peace of mind, knowing that it was something we didn't have to worry about during such an important day! She sent us an USB key very fast after the wedding, so fast that we had a chance to do a "photo night" with my family right after it. I would recommend Melena for any couple out there that is looking for a great photographer for their wedding!

Melena is fun to work with as well as professional. She has taken some wonderful pictures of my family including maternity photos, newborn photos, and general family photos which I think really captured us perfectly. She has a great eye but will also listen to your ideas and work with you to get the best photos. I trust her and will always ask her to capture our moments in the future. She's the best!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I receive a new client, I will set up an appointment to meet in person and go over details about the product and service they would like. Appointments by phone are also available if the client is unable to meet in person. We then set a date and time for the actual shoot. I will follow up with the client the week of that shoot. Clients can expect to receive the highest quality of service and respect at the shoot. And finally the client will receive a link with the photos within two weeks of the shoot date.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended and graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography, specializing in photojournalism. I have been professionally doing photography ever since, having shot over 50 weddings, many headshots, family photos and event photography.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a kid I loved capturing my memories with my friends and family. I spent several years using film cameras and developing an eye for color, composition, and lighting. I have since advanced to digital photography.
