FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes. I post my rates on my website so they're easy to find. I have three options that all work out to $200/hr.: 4 x 30 min calls/mo $400 3 x 60 min calls/mo $600 4 x 60 min calls/mo $800 My fees are paid on a monthly retainer. I don't require clients to sign up for a specific amount of time, but they should generally be prepared to work with me for a minimum of three months to see some real progress.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a questionnaire that I ask my clients to fill out before our first meeting. I tell them to answer as many or as few of the questions as they like, since some of us love this sorta thing and others of us hate writing out our thoughts. The questionnaire asks them to tell me about their current circumstances, goals, challenges and what they hope to gain from working with me. I ask them how they define success and how they will know they've achieved it. In our first coaching session, I'll ask more questions (Hey--it's my job!! :-) and share some thoughts and observations about what I read and hear. We will spend a session or two getting to know each other a bit, since so much of my work is rooted in learning my clients' habits, dreams, ways of being, beliefs, and so forth. We will pick a goal or two to focus our efforts on and start figuring out what it will take to get there and what might get in the way. While we work on goals I'll offer homework to move my clients forward and to keep them accountable and help them see their progress. But I'll always be watching for a powerful mindset and good habits to make sure they get to be who they want to be.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Like many coaches, when I look back on my life I can see that I've always been a coach, always been the one others came to in order to work themselves out. I've always been a teacher or mentor. I decided to make it official, though, by enrolling in a year-long Coach Training and Leadership program offered by Accomplishment Coaching, one of the leading coach training programs in the world. Of course, it is an ICF (International Coach Federation) certified training program, and I became a certified life coach in June 2005. I have been practicing as a coach continuously since then. I have coached hundreds of clients via private coaching and countless via my seminars, webinars, in-person workshops and live Mom Biz Retreats over the years.
