FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
To make budgeting for projects easier for my clients, I price many of the most common design projects at a flat rate. These rates were created based on the average hours it has taken to design various projects over the years. My hourly design rate is $60 per hour with a 15 minute minimum charge.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with either a sit down meeting or a phone call to get to know my client, but it really depends on the client because some people just want to get down to business. :) Either way, we discuss the criteria for the project; I get the specifications, including everything from due date to color, layout, and type style preferences; I create the initial draft based on the specs and send it to the client for review and comment; from there it is a give and take until the final piece is created. Once finalized I provide the appropriate files for the client to use however they wish.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pacific Lutheran University and have taken multiple continuing education classes throughout the years. I interned at a print shop while in college and was hired after graduation. Later I worked for a couple small businesses and freelanced, and then landed a job as an in-house designer for an engineering firm. After 9 years there I started my business and have continued to educate myself on technique and software.
