Introduction: I'm a wedding and portrait photographer who loves her job! My style is a mixture of both canid and traditional, but always shot with an artistic eye. Expect a fast turnaround, I have most weddings edited within a week. I have a degree in photography and have been a fine art photographer for many years. Now I'm indulging my love of romance by catching all the happily ever afters I can this summer. I love capturing a true moment between people. Being able to show that in an image is just amazing. And I love the challenge of photography, analyzing lighting, angles, making quick decisions and then loving the results.

When I first started looking for a photographer, I was dismayed at the quotes that I was receiving: $1,600 for 4 hours of photographer time, which didn't include the prints... we just couldn't find a way to make that work with our budget. That's when I turned to Thumbtack and Sarah sent me a very affordable quote! I have followed Sarah's work since early in her career. I've always enjoyed her way of capturing candid moments and it has been impressive to watch the progression of her craft over the years, especially the 12-18 months leading up to the wedding. Every time she posted new work on Facebook it made me look forward to my own special day even more! Once Sarah and I connected on Thumbtack, we spoke on the phone and got a chance to feel one another out. And from that point, choosing Sarah for my wedding photographer was the easiest and best decision that I made in the wedding planning process. Sarah and I touched base throughout the weeks and months leading up to our big day and she even showed up at the wedding rehearsal so she could gather ideas and I could share my own ideas with her! It was always so easy to get in touch with Sarah and she was so easy to work with. The part that I loved the most is that she never forced a photo. If we looked awkward holding a pose, she was quick to scrap that idea and move onto the next one. I swear her little photography mind runs a million miles a minute (so yours doesn't have to!). As a result of her clarity of mind and her raw talent, our wedding gallery is absolutely spectacular. It is honestly everything we could've dreamed of and more! She captures the glance that you don't think she saw. She captures when your hand falls just right and your husband looks like a model. She captures all of the little moments that fly by in the blink of an eye and makes you feel as if you're reliving that exact moment when you look at the photograph. If you're reading this, you'd be making a mistake to pass this opportunity up!

Sarah was exactly what we wanted for our small wedding! She was responsive during the booking process and then checked in leading up to the date. She arrived on time, ready to shoot, and captured all the important moments. More than that, she had ideas for fun and meaningful shots and helped us through it (we're both a bit camera shy). I hired Sarah Gagnon photography to take wedding pictures of my husband and I. Not only did the pictures come out beautifully but she made the experience fun and comfortable for both of us, neither of us like getting our pictures taken so that's really saying something. I would definitely recommend Sarah for any kind of photography needs you might have!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer portrait sessions for $120, and my basic wedding package starts at $500 and goes up from there. Full wedding package 8 hours, all the digital files corrected and included w/ print release. $900
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love to schedule an engagement photo session before the actual wedding, it gives me plenty of time to get a feel for what the couple is looking for. If that's not possible, I'm always available for a phone chat or online. I'm very easygoing and happy to accommodate any photo requests.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in photography and also spent many years printing and developing traditional black and white. My technical experience helps me edit my digital files to closely capture the magic of what true black and white film looks like. Though this is a new commercial venture for me. I've been a photographer for 20+ years.
