Hired on Thumbtack

First called for an estimate for several projects in the fall after looking for HVAC contractor on internet and received great, prompt response from owner. Then I called back at the end of February to schedule the one project I wanted to move forward on and was asked about the bigger project. When I said I just wanted to pursue the smaller project, I was told by the owner they were busy on another job and they'd call me in a few weeks to schedule but never called. I went on Thumbtack to use the app to find another HVAC company and Carbone's responded. I messaged back what had happened and got an immediate call from the owner apologizing. So, I decided to give them a chance. Came out to do part of the job--install attic fan and move ductwork in nursery to increase AC airflow. Fan went great. Moved ductwork in nursery over to reconnect to unit approximately 2 feet and charged me almost $400--didn't even replace the ductwork, just reused it! Told me the main AC issue required parts and ordered same. Came out a week later and spend 6 hours trying to replace relay and could not figure it out. My father was there because I had to be at work. He tried to help the guy (younger tech) to no avail. Tech kept calling foreman, Keith, for help. I reached out to Keith directly, who told me there was no problem and that if my father would leave the tech alone the tech would be able to get it done. (My father is in no way a pain in dealing with techs--he worked in his field for 30 years both hands-on and as a foreman and was just trying to help the tech because the guy was getting frustrated no one from his company was coming to help him.) Well my father left him alone and he still couldn't figure it out. Tech left and said Keith would return the next day at 1pm to complete the repair. The next morning, at approximately 1040am, I received a text message from Keith asking if he could come Monday because he needed to finish another job for another client. I had taken the day off work to be home because I didn't want inconvenience my father another day. Needless to say, I did not reschedule the repair and called someone else (Anthony Mechanical--I highly recommend) to complete the job. Blew a day off from work and, to add insult to injury, the ductwork they relocated for almost $400 to increase airflow did nothing to solve the problem, something I didn't realize until after the fact because they never got the unit working for me to test it. Steer clear.

Stacy sorry you feel that way when our tech was there who's been only doing this for five years and stumble across a few items your dad was on top of him the whole time, as you stated to me on the phone your dad replace the relay in his own system once before so not sure why were they are doing it to begin with then he questioned my tech on the cost of relocating the supply line in the back bedroom several times about this. He does not do the pricing on any project I only rescheduled for the fact we had another unfinished project and it was 50° out didn't think you need the air-conditioning That day. We've done multimillion dollar homes restaurants banquet halls etc. never had a problem with the design system or Service for that matter. We stand behind what we do all you had to do was give me a chance to come back and I would've took care of it myself personally
