Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: After many years of providing consulting regarding exercise and living in this area I've grown to love the individualized remote coaching approach to training and coaching. I’ve been involved with group fitness coaching and academic education in the exercise world for many years. I’ve always found that my clients/students that received individualized attention had the best results and long term success. The focus of my efforts is always on the client and what is best for you to achieve your goals. I’ve included a short biography so you have an idea of my knowledge base and personal fitness experiences. I’d be happy to share more but I like to keep the focus of our relationship on you, not me. What I will ask of you is 3 things: 1) take 100% RESPONSIBILITY for what you eat. Even if you don't prepare it you are FULLY ACCOUNTABLE for the choices you made. 2) Workout/train with INTENSITY and purpose so you take full advantage of the opportunity to maximize the benefit of your new food choices and lifestyle. 3) maintain a POSITIVE MINDSET that you are capable of and deserving of achieving your goals. As for my coaching services I offer a number of different options but find that clients are the most successful if they commit to monthly remote coaching. For monthly remote coaching I like to start things off with clients by having an in-person or Skype consultation that lasts around 60 minutes. During the consultation we will get to know your fitness background, medical history, sports history, uncover your motivations and goals, and have a lengthy discussion with open-ended questions in order to understand the picture of your lifestyle and recovery habits. This will all help me to paint a picture of where you are in your fitness journey and where we can go from here. Monthly Remote Coaching: - All training programs delivered through TheFitBot application (data tracking, feedback platform, and up to date communication portal for me and clients) - 20-30 min in-person or Skype call every month - Nutritional prescriptions based upon our goals - General lifestyle advice as needed / requested I try to do more for my clients than just write workouts. I want to build relationships that last for a long period of time. Also, many of your goals will take many months of dedication and hard work to achieve. Therefore I ask my clients to commit to at least 6 Months of remote coaching. Every client will receive their own unique program based on the information from the consultation and assessments. No two clients programs are alike and the road map to improving their health and or fitness always looks unique. This is why going to a group exercise class, following an online fitness blog, etc. simply doesn’t work for many people. Also, many personal trainers will give all their clients the same exercise program without consideration for individual differences, abilities and goals. Programs depend on the client’s abilities, lifestyle, personal preferences, etc. We can design a plan that is best for you and adapts on a weekly basis as your fitness progresses. The key is that we continue to see progress and improvement. The training mode, intensity and frequency will always need to match the goals and the client’s lifestyle. I have extensive knowledge in numerous sub-fields of exercise and fitness. I received my Ph.D. in Kinesiology from Penn State University. Over the past five years I’ve primarily worked as a full-time assistant professor of Kinesiology at George Mason University. At Mason I teach classes on exercise physiology, biomechanics, exercise prescription, exercise programming and fitness assessment. Essentially, I educate students to become professionals in fitness related fields. I really enjoy sharing the knowledge I’ve gained to help others achieve their goals, whether it is running a 5k, losing weight, obtaining a college athletic scholarship or simply becoming fitter so that you can enjoy life to its fullest. Joel Martin, Ph.D., CSCS, ACSM EP-C, CES, TSAC-F, Pn1, FMS Exercise, Fitness and Health Promotion Graduate Program Coordinator Kinesiology Assistant Professor

I have been training with Joel Martin for over a year. During this period he has provided me workouts that have helped me maintain and sometimes improve my running performances. At age 91 it isn't easy to improve one's running times but thanks to Joel this has actually happened. His workouts have resulted in a definite improvement in my endurance, flexibility, balance and strength. Joel is an excellent trainer. His workout drills are well presented and he is always available for consultation.
