- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and European Cultural Studies from Brandeis University. I am a Masters candidate in Theological Studies at Boston University. My teacher training in ESL was conducted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at The Language Studio. I have experience with a wide range of ages, from age 5 to adult. I have helped students prepare for a wide variety of Standardized exams including SAT, ACT, and the University of Cambridge Proficiency Exams in English. In addition I have worked as the head Philosophy tutor and Writing tutor for the Student Athlete Services of Boston University. I have worked with many students in developing their writing skills including essay structure, grammar, and textual analysis. Reading Comprehension has been a major theme of my work with students of all ages.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I became started in tutoring at a young age, often tutoring fellow peers in High school for their NY Regents exams in English, Chemistry, etc. I eventually formed a passion for teaching and particularly for language and writing.
