FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I evaluate my student's ability and music knowledge, ask about learning goals, and identify areas for growth. Then we have as much fun as possible (by improvising, playing ear training games etc.) before getting to serious work; i find this creates a positive environment for learning to happen.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied music education at the Berklee College of Music, and have worked as an educator in the Boston public schools where I received regular coaching from veteran teachers. I am a licensed music teacher by the state of Massachusetts and also teach ESL to adults in a private school in Brighton.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
A friend saw me drumming and asked for lessons. I proceeded to study pedagogy and realizes that teaching is extremely challenging and rewarding.
