What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I like value-based pricing models, but do have a standard price for most of my marketing writing projects, such as $100 per page for web writing projects.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer an interview-style process for working with customers. By asking a lot of questions, it allows me to understand my client's business and marketing/sales goals first, as well as their customers, competitors and brand. From there, I can develop a strategy for their marketing project and write with their voice in mind.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor of science degree in advertising from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have worked in both corporate marketing and agency settings for the past 15 years, and have run my own consulting business since 2005. I approach all of my web writing projects with SEO in mind, and enjoy working with both web/design agencies and directly with companies.
