FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As a rule of thumb, I currently charge $25 an hour. I am willing to negotiate fixed price projects, within reason. I'm currently developing a series of minimal revision fixed price projects for small businesses, new entrepreneurs, and creative professionals on a budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Research. I get to know you, your business/blog/organization, and your vision for it. Go ahead, tell me all of your hopes, dreams, and desires- at least in the context of the project! 2. Preparation. If you're looking for a logo, I find similar logos or other logos in your industry/genre/city of business- this will give me an idea of what to do and what not to do (like, if you're a new bakery, I do NOT want to give you a logo that is too similar to the one down the street!) 3. Drafting. Going forward with the logo design example, I sketch (yes! on paper! with a pencil!) multiple ideas, decide which ones to move forward with, and make rough digital versions of them. 4. Feedback. After presenting my draftwork, I'll take any and all corrections, critiques, questions, and suggestions. I want to make my work suit you, not the other way around! 5. Finalization. While we may end up on steps 3 and 4 multiple times, eventually we will get to step 5. All the final touches, last minute color changes, and any last bits of flair are made. Then I create an export package, and send it on your way!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most recently I was laid off from my position as Marketing Manager at a tech company, where I modernized the branding, redesigned all print materials, and revamped the website. Before that, I was the Marketing Assistant at a bar where I managed to sell out the Midnight Masquerade event in a couple of weeks on Facebook. And before that, I've done commission graphic design work, at least 3 marketing internships, and was the Graphic Design Teaching Assistant at college! Speaking of college, I have 2 Associate's Degrees in Computer Science and Art from Cottey College, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications in Marketing Communications from the New England School of Communications (now a part of Husson University). I'm also Inbound Marketing Certified by HubSpot! And in my spare time, I run a video game blog called Trickette, which focuses on getting young girls interested in games. I also have run various ecommerce businesses, such as my upcycled denim Etsy store, my Society6 store, and my Poshmark closet!
