FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
FIRST, our pricing will be based on VISUALLY assessing the SCOPE and specific DETAILS of the INDIVIDUAL project. Second, our INTERIOR pricing will be based on the following variables: Are the walls standard 8' height, or TALLER. Does the project require the CEILINGS or NOT, AND will they be the SAME color as the walls, or NOT. Does the project require patch work or repairs BEYOND NORMAL wear and tear, and picture holes. Are any crown, trim, doors, or windows to be included. Will all the walls be one or two colors, or MORE. Does the owner want FLAT (and what GRADE), SATIN, or EGGSHELL. Is the project inhabited and furnished, or NOT. Are any cabinets to be finished, new and finish-free, or to be RE-painted, and LINEAR FEET. Third, our EXTERIOR pricing will be based as follows: One story. Square feet if entire structure. Linear feet if just specific walls. Per items total if specific windows, doors, soffit and fascia, columns, porches, decks, etc. Product finish preference: Paint or Stain and Grade. Also, we do not paint residential aluminum or vinyl siding.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Setting an appointment to VISUALLY assess the scope and specific details of the individual project. Determining the specific needs and PREFERENCES of the project owner. Forwarding a FIRM bid LATER, but as soon as possible. If hired, setting a project START DATE, and establishing PAYMENT arrangements (Usually UPON COMPLETION, unless the project is large enough to span MORE than ONE week, then it would be a WEEKLY DRAW). Start the project on the agreed date.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing this for over 30 years. I could TEACH the CLASS, and have forgotten MORE than MOST painters will ever KNOW ( that is, IF there WERE a class)! Pardon my lack of humility, but I am regarded as a MASTER CABINET FINISHER, and other painters contact ME when they have a QUESTION! I also stay abreast of new trends in the market, usually via the sales reps. Seriously.
