- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out at age 10 helping my grandmother paint her rental property. At the age of 15, Times was hard and money was tight. So I had to quit school and start doing what I knew best and that was painting. I got my first full time job working for production painting and renovations. With everything to loose I had to tack the bull by the horns, cause I couldn't miss this opportunity up. with the ability to adapt, and conquer my goals. I thank God for blessing me with the ability to be a visual learner. My boss was amazed how quickly I picked up on how everything was done. After excelling through the many stages in the painting industry. Started out rolling paint on walls, some jobs was faux finish which I loved. Then I became cut in guy, from there I was a spray man. At the age of 16 I was promoted to job foreman over a painting crew of 6 people. which consists of making sure everybody was doing their job correct, and efficiently with all tools and work areas clean. But just because I was Foreman didn't mean I didn't have to work, it ment I had to work harder. I was Foreman for 2 years for production painting and renovations. Then I decided to start working for myself. In 2006 I was fortunate to land a job working as a self contractor, painting for a dollar square foot for flipper McDaniel Associates. When I started out working for flipper McDonald I didn't have any workers to help me. These jobs was all brand new houses. I had to caulk, prep trim nail holes, primer the whole house ceilings and walls. Then I had to pole sand walls and ceilings before starting Finnish coat. Unfortunately in 2008 when the economy crashed there was no more work. With God guiding me in life I was fortunate to land another self Contracting job working for PFW Properties. I started working for PFW PROPERTIES painting houses in 2008. mainly just painting rental property. The pay was a lot lower from when I worked for flipper. I worked for PFW Properties till 2009.. July 24, 2009 my life changed for the worse when I lost my farther from a Harley-Davidson accident. I always remember him telling me it don't matter if your hairdresser or an astronaut be the best at what you do. So I took those words and engraved it into my business today. And This is when CBT-PAINTING was born. I went back to school and got my GED at Georgia Northwestern in February 2011. My first and only wife, we got married in 2013. With the surprise of my life, My first and only little girl was born December 2014. and this is when everything changed for the better for me. I never thought I could love this much. As long as I'm breathing my little girl will not have to worry about the things I had to growing up. With that said, customer satisfaction is CBT Paintings number one priority. With out customer satisfaction you won't be in the business long, and I'm in it to the end. Thank you for reading Charles B. Turner
