FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For all House Calls/Field Service I charge $40 an hour for up to 3 hours. Sometimes if I run a virus scan or a reinstall of a computer it can take more than that. I only think its fair for the customer to charge a max of 3 hours meaning you will never pay more than $120 on labor. Many computer shops charge around that an hour. For system drop offs or pickups (typically a two-three day turn around I charge $65 FLAT for all hardware/software repairs. Pretty generous deal here.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two years of vocational training in Electricity/Informational Technology. I am a hands on person and self motivated to succeed in this industry. I also acquired my CompTIA A+ certification which is an industry standard certification in the IT field.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out fixing and selling electronics and cell phones on eBay over four years ago. I have always loved accomplishment of fixing new problems and encountering them later, only to have confidence on how to tackle the problem once again. I recently graduated from a vocational tech school and started out doing contract jobs for local restaurants and retail chains.
