Introduction: I have over 30 years experience as a band director teaching children and adults how to play wind instruments and piano in Canoga Park. Many of my students continue to enjoy playing their instruments as adults! All lessons at my studio are recorded and made available for viewing on the internet at no charge - this allows you to refresh your memory at anytime! Normally I charge $38 for a 60 minute lesson, but because I want you to meet me and observe my teaching style, your first lesson is free. Together we can work together to make your piano goals a reality🎹

Mr. Sturm loves music and has been a wonderful band and orchestra instructor to several members of my family over the years. He is knowledgable about many different instruments from brass and percussion to strings and piano, and he is always learning about more. I highly recommend him.

Mr. Sturm was my clarinet instructor from 5th grade all the way to 12 grade. He is an extraordinary teacher with patience and deep care for his students. He is still my teacher and I count on him for advice on how to improve my playing. He has extensive knowledge of the intricacies of each instrument and knows how to motivate and encourage each student based on their abilities and character. FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When a lesson is given at my studio, I charge $23 for half hour lessons and $32 for 45 minute lessons. I am willing to travel to the student's home but an additional charge will apply for this service.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Your first lesson is free - this allows you, the customer to get to know your teacher and their teaching style. The teacher uses this lesson to make an assessment of the student's goals and develop a syllabus to meet these goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a bachelor of science in music education and am a member of the Music Teacher's Association of California. It has been my pleasure to teach private music lessons for over 30 years in Southern California.
