Introduction: I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) with experience training hundreds of dogs of all ages and breeds. As a positive reinforcement trainer, I am focused on working with the owner to set goals and create a clear training plan to accomplish them. I recognize that every dog and every situation is different, however seeing improvement in behaviors requires everyone to be on board, therefore my training techniques emphasize active participation from the humans and the dogs! Watching a person bond with their dog and improve their relationship is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a dog trainer. At the end of the day, it's about creating a lasting change that will bring joy and happiness to the home...after all, isn't that what "best friends" are for?

Leigh helped me with several of my dogs. Each has their own individual quirks and personalities and she understands that. Dogs are drawn to her and she calms them. She is also patient with their people. With Leigh's guidance, I was able to take one of my dogs through obedience up to therapy dog level.

I worked with Leigh with my dog from the age of 11 weeks through to 3 years old. Leigh is a great teacher, uses positive conditioning techniques and supported us with our pups in basic obedience and manners and supported us through our dog becoming fear-aggressive toward other dogs as he aged. Our dog also learned a lot of agility and tricks by working with Leigh. She is patient, encouraging, and knows that the real trick to good dog training is teaching the human! I would recommend her for anything your dog is going through!

Leigh has provided me, and my pups Augie and Bobo the ability to be more confident and better behaved in the home, out in the community and in the playgroups. My dog Marcello and I were lucky to be students of Leigh at Zoom Room. Leigh is an incredibly patient and devoted positive reinforcement dog trainer. She is able to immediately connect with the dogs in her classes and provide insightful corrections both in obedience and agility. She is also extremely quick to respond to emails and has overall awesome customer service skills. I do offer training packages which are at a discounted rate compared to buying single sessions. Check out my website for details or contact me to discuss the best option for you!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will start with a 15-minute phone call to discuss the behaviors needing training and your ultimate goals and from there will set up our first in-person appointment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed(CPDT-KA) and in the past 5 years have trained over 2,600 dogs in Obedience, Agility and enrichment activities (Tricks, Therapy, Scent etc).
