Introduction: At SJ EQ we train riders not only how to ride but how to become a partner with a 1200 lb animal. We focus mainly on dressage but teach jumping, western dressage, and basic horsemanship as well. I love watching riders learn a new technique or understanding a new concept. Teaching isn’t just my job but my passion and I love sharing my love with others.

I’ve been with SJ for a year now. I have made a lot progress in this short amount of time. My dressage seat has improved so much. In conjunction with that, my strength and endurance has also increased. Serenity has an intuitive approach to teaching that allows the rider and horse to grow together. She does a great job of tayloring each riding session to the need you have for that particular day. All this comes together to create a well balanced horse and rider.

The best trainer in the entire world ever. I am so happy riding with Mrs. Serenity and we all love her so much. Once you're apart of the SJ Equestrian family you're real family. We all stick up for each other and we all get along. I couldn't ask for a better horse trainer, advice giver, or friend, than Serenity Villar.

I’m so glad to be apart of the SJ equestrian team! This group is truly what it means to be supportive and encouraging! Serenity is an amazing educator to say the least! Most instructors just bark orders and don’t bother to explain WHY you’re doing what they ask. Serenity takes the time to patiently explain everything in a way that you feel like you are communicating with the horse and that you feel like you are working together. I’m amazed as to how far I’ve come in my riding and how confident I feel!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer first lesson half off! A 30 min lesson is only 25 dollars and an hour lesson is 35! Come try it out!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson includes evaluating a riders goals and abilities.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been worked with international level eventers. Several international clinicians and was a working student for a year with a Grand Prix trainer.
