Typically when working with a new customer, I seek to gain a full understanding of the project at hand. Generally I follow up with a few questions to insure an accurate assessment of the work and to provide a comprehensive estimate. Understanding the customer is fundamental to providing excellent service in addition to obtaining great results. Speaking over the phone, email or text messages are all useful ways I communicate with customers to discuss their project. Feel free to contact in the manner you feel most comfortable.

- How did you get started doing this type of work?
From the time I can remember I was digging in the soil, learning about plants, trees and nature. I grew up in the back yard of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, an area filled with scientific and historical significance to the field of ecology. The plant diversity is some of the greatest in the world. I grew up surrounded by plants and nature. Our family cultivated a large garden filled with nearly every vegetable you can imagine. In addition to growing a garden I was also a member of The Boy Scouts of America where my love and appreciation for nature was supported even further. Plants have always been an interest of mine and improving landscapes is something I have always enjoyed. During my years attending school at Purdue University I held a part time job at a local Garden Center where I became even more knowledgeable; increasing my understanding of the use of fertilizers and gardening practices. Working in a garden center, I gained valuable customer service experience and discovered what it takes to offer exceptional customer service. After working at the garden center for two season, it was time for me to further my growth. Maintaining my job I also took up employment with a local landscaper where I gained valuable hands on experience. The following season I graduated from Purdue University and went on to start J&A Landscaping, LLC with my brother Andrew. Through my hands on experience, job training and formal education I have created a unique career that allows me to incorporate my love and appreciation for nature, fulfills my desire to create and allows me to help enhance the neighborhoods and communities I work in. This work has been an integral part of my entire life and I find great joy in what I do.
