Introduction: We are available after December 2, 2015. We offer obedience training, private or group, and behavior modification for all breeds and ages. Puppy training also!! Positive reinforcement is used to train and/or change unwanted behaviors..like jumping on people, bolting out doors, pulling the leash...etc and learning sit, stay, come and other obedience behaviors. Keeping happy dogs in happy homes!!

We found Nanci after adding a fifth dog to our little pack. Dexter was a headstrong, Intelligent rescue--a beautiful mix of border collie, bulldog and who knows what. He naturally wanted to mimic the behaviors of our smaller dogs, but his size and energy made it painfully clear how poorly we had trained the smaller ones. They jumped on arriving guests--a small annoyance from a nine pound dog but a potential injury from a much larger, stronger pup. Nanci's calm spirit and quiet confidence brought the stress level down even on her first visit. She stepped right in to a sometimes chaotic environment--often with a different dog assigned to each family member as she worked with our entire group at once. She never lost her patience, she never wavered in her confidence and she always presented professionalism and warmth. Our dogs LOVED Nanci and exuberantly greeted her and followed her directions eagerly. (I'm not sure the humans always followed as well as the dogs! Ha) She gave us clear, concise directions and "assignments" for us to work on between visits. She answered our questions and worked with our requests. She quickly recognized the personality traits and skills of each family member--those with four legs and those with two--and tailored her training to work with each dog's and each person's unique offerings. No small task, I can assure you! During the time we were working with Nanci, our beloved older dog Paris struck ill and despite months of treatment and efforts, we lost her. Nanci's compassion and support through that difficult period means more than I can say. She gave us powerful insight into what Paris's death would mean to the other dogs and how her absence in the pack would affect hierarchy and behavior. She gave us things to watch for as the other dogs adjusted to the loss of their canine leader. I cannot recommend Nanci highly enough. Her skills, her knowledge of animal behavior, her calm demeanor, her passion for animals, and her warmth as a human being make her a shining light and a trainer any family would be blessed to have.

Nancy was excellent. Her knowledge and training methods were very easy to put into practice. I felt at ease and confident during each session. Nancy was flexible in our training location and used a creative approach when needed. She was positive and supportive throughout the process. I highly recommend her services and would hire her again in the future.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will discuss your needs for you and your dog and decide together on the best way to get started. Some behavior issues are complex and some are typical and I will ask questions to determine how to address your needs but most importantly you will learn the tools to maintain a happy relationship with your dog.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am ABCDT certified as well as AKC CGC Evaluator certified.
