FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing a tax return is typically based on what forms and how many are included in your tax return. Having said that, I don't charge for every entry on your return, so there is no need to fear being 'nickel & dimed'. Sometimes a return requires significant time to address a matter or tabulate numbers, whether it be from sale of stocks, a small business, or the sale of an investment property for example. Then time will be considered and typically billed at $100 per hr.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will meet with you and go through your tax documents and listen to your questions and descriptions of what you have going on in your tax life. Often, I am able to do the return with you right then and there. Many of my clients like this type of service. I have heard many client say, "my tax guy never explained this stuff to me like you do." Typically, they say, they drop off their papers and a month later they get a call, come in and sign and never talk to anyone (except maybe over the phone).
