Introduction: Tree Frog Design is a full service design studio specializing in kitchen and bath construction and remodels. We offer a complete custom cabinet line in addition to countertop fabrication, backsplash design, materials and color consultation. We have relationships with a wide variety of area vendors and we will work side by side with you to facilitate a beautiful finished room I have been working as a kitchen and bath designer in the Pacific Northwest for 13 years. I love engaging with new clients, ascertaining their needs through various interviews and meetings and then collaborating as we build their finished concept together. The variety of design styles, room layouts and function changes so much between one person and the next that no two finished products are remotely the same. This fluidity allows for endless possibilities for exploration in my field. It keeps the job interesting and has always given me a particular sense of reward and accomplishment as we near completion. The greatest personal recompense in this chosen profession is being able to walk with a client through this process and come out the other side with that client feeling elated with the end result.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial Design Consultation: Establishes the scope of the project, defines goals and objectives, and reviews design preference and style. We also consider the budget and target storage and workstation needs. Conceptual Space Planning: We start this phase of the project with an in home measure and build upon the initial stage of design. A proposed room layout is developed which I feel best encompasses the client needs and desires. I'll work up drawings, recommendations and a presentation based on our interviews. This lays the foundation for the next stage of implementation. Design Development: Once we have established a layout we are ready to begin selection of appliances, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, cabinet style and finishes. We also explore and choose the countertop materials & backsplash options. This is our leg of the journey where we visit showrooms and hone in on a finished design. All materials are estimated and incorporated into the budget and we are ready to consult with contractors for the installation. Finishing Touches & Ordering: Scaled drawings are supplied to the contractor and homeowner for review before the final orders are placed (measure twice - cut once). We go over the drawings, and specifications to ensure smooth installation. Any tile or backsplash design is now completed and ready. Plumbing fixtures are usually ordered through the licensed plumber doing the work to ensure any warranties. Deposits are made and cabinets, countertop, lighting and tile orders are made. Implementation of Work: The final juncture where the merchandise is received, inspected for quality control and installed. I check in with you and your contractor frequently to review and clarify as necessary. I believe this is important to ensure a smooth installation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in interior design and have been working in the design industry for over 20 years. I have spent the last 13 years specializing in kitchen and bathroom design.
